The allure of Cuba beckons with old world architecture, timeless vistas, smiling faces, a colorful history, and a thriving music and dance culture.This Caribbean island has endured so much but continues to grow and fight through producing some of the worlds greatest art, music, dance and food. Cuba is indeed a country with a lot of heart and soul.  

During this 9 day trip we will travel from Havana to Zapata National Park to the winding streets of Trinidad. Our expert local guides will give us authentic insight to the local culture and people of Cuba. We stay at small, family run Casas Particulares, with excellent comfort, service and style and support many of the locally run businesses throughout Cuba.

Unless you are purchasing the airline insurance it is a good idea to wait until departure is confirmed to buy plane tickets. Please plan to arrive into Havana International airport (HAV) on Day 1. Our airport transfer will be confirmed once everyone has their flights.

D A Y O N E | ARRIVAL

Please arrive today into Havana International airport. You will be met by our local guide. After settling into our hotel feel free to relax and try their famous mojitos! Dinner is out together at a neighborhood restaurant. (D)

D A Y T W O | EXLORING OLD HAVANA & FUSTERLANDIA

You will explore the winding streets of Old Havana today, learning about history, architecture and Cuban culture. In the afternoon we will visit Fusterlandia, a neighborhood reclaimed by famous artist, Jose Fuster, through public art installations, murals and mosaics. Dinner will be on the waterfront. (B,D)

D A Y T H R E E | SALSA & FABRICA DEL ARTE

Today there is an option to take a salsa class. Dinner will be at Fabrica del Arte, a museum/event space/restaurant known for supporting and promoting local artists in Cuba. You can choose to head out tonight and practice your salsa moves! (B,D)

D A Y F O U R | VINTAGE CAR RIDE & DANCE

In the late afternoon there will be a vintage car ride followed by a stroll down the malecon. There is an option to see the Cuban Ballet or other dance performance (at your own cost-about $30) at about 8pm. (B,D)

D A Y F I V E | PLAYA LARGA

We’ll drive an hour and a half from Havana to Zapata National Park. Here is where the famous “Bay of Pigs” invasion took place in 1961. We’ll head straight to the beach to get settled and lunch is on your own. In the afternoon there will be an opportunity for swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear Caribbean waters. (B,L,D)

D A Y S I X | PLAYA LARGA

We will explore more in depth the small fishing community here and learn about local life. Option for a local fishing excursion or nearby hike. (B,D)

D A Y S E V E N | TRINIDAD

From here we head to Trinidad. Trinidad is incredibly photogenic and colorful and is also a UNESCO heritage site. We will arrive in the afternoon just in time to explore the streets, stores, artisans and markets with Ruben, our guide. (B,D)

There will be a walking tour with Ruben during the morning. We will gather for sunset drinks upon a rooftop before heading out to dinner together on the town. (B,D)
