Our program in India is focused in the northwestern region of Rajasthan- which means “Land of the Kings” in Hindi. This area is brimming with abundant color, vibrant festivals, magnificent monuments and glorious castles.

You will discover a more candid and intimate side of India and hear the stories of women from villagers to city dwellers. We focus our attention on the daily lives of women and the ancient and complex history of this colorful, exotic and magical region of India. Learn more here.

Day 1: Arrival

You will be met at the airport and be transferred to our hotel for the night.

Day 2: Flight to Udaipur

After breakfast we will take a regional flight to Udaipur around noon. If you are feeling up to it we will take an easy walking tour of old city and markets.

Day 3: Udaipur Exploration

We explore the city palace and Jagdish temple. In the evening there is an unforgettable sunset boat ride and wonderful dinner beside the lake.  

Day 4: Journey to Jodhpur

Today we head towards Jodhpur, the hometown of  your guides', Govind and Virendra. Along the way we will stop at the renowned Ranakphur Temple built in the 15th century

Day 5: Jodhpur Sites, Sambhali Trust and Bishnoi Village  

In the morning we will explore the famed fort. We will share lunch with some girls of the Sambhali Trust. Later, we continue on to Bishnoi Village where there will be a weaving demonstration by one family who has been making rugs for generations followed by dinner.                                                                                                      

Day 6: Community Exchange with Sambhali Trust

We will be spending the day working alongside the women and volunteers of Sambhali Trust.  Depending on what work needs to be done, we will partner off and spend the day in the communities working with the volunteers and women of Sambhali Trust.

Day 7: Village of Setrawa

we will be able to experience non-touristy rural village life and interact with Govind's family. In the evening for sunset we will take a camel  ride into the vast and majestic dunes.

Day 8: Setrawa & Sambhali

We will visit a local school founded bu the Sambhali Trust and learn about how their programs are not only affecting women in the city of Jodhpur but also the surrounding villages. The afternoon will be spent getting to know these women and partaking in fun activities like modeling saris and henna!

Day 9: Setrawa-Jaisalmer

We will be driving to Jaisalmer a world heritage site and known as the golden city. After lunch and a visit to a historic Haveli, we will have time to relax in the afternoon or wander the streets to shop!

Day 10: Jaisalmer

Today will be spent touring the golden fortress, gem shops and winding city streets. The evening is yours to mold with more shopping and exploring.

Day 11: Transfer day to Jodhpur

After breakfast we hit the road early to head back to Jodhpur where you can choose from a variety of services at the gorgeous hotel spa.

Day 12: Journey to Jaipur

Experience India by train! Today we arrive to the capital of the Rajasthan, Jaipur, known as the pink city filled with castles, colors, bustling markets and smells of spices.

Day 13: Jaipur Sites

By jeep, we will explore the historical and gorgeous Amer fort. After lunch, we will continue our site seeing of the city palace still in use by the Maharajah of Jaipur.

Day 14: Arrival to Agra- Taj Mahal! 

Today will be spent exploring the ins and outs of the famous Taj Mahal.

Day 15: Taj Mahal-Delhi Departure

We will be making our way back to Delhi today for those departing back home. Once in Delhi we will see a more modern side of India.
