DAY 1: Arrival to Reykjavik

Welcome to Iceland! You'll be met by your local guide at the airport and take a group transfer over to our hotel for early check-in. After a quick rest and some breakfast, we will depart for a tour of the city to learn about Iceland's capital. In the early evening we will regroup for an amazing culinary tour and class with a local company that specializes in the slow food movement. Dinner will be eaten together after the cooking class. DAY  2: South Shore Excursion

After breakfast we will visit the Pingborg Wool Workshop. Here we can engage with the local women who work with wool and see what their typical work day involves. The Icelandic sheep are a rare breed and produce some very unique fleece.  We will continue our day down the south shore to the Seljalandfoss Waterfalls and view some incredible glaciers. We will also explore the Skogar Folk museum, the Reynisfjara volcanic beach and the glacier tongue of Solheimajokull. The day will end in the quaint town of Vik. (B,L,D)

DAY 3: Skaftafell National Park & Private Boat Tour

Passing by a 200 year old moss-covered lava field we will arrive at Skaftafell National Park. There are waterfalls, endless vistas, and trails to explore. After the park,  we will make our way to the Glacier Lagoon for a private boat tour. This allows us opportunity to see the glaciers up close and get some incredible photographs! (B,L,D)

DAY 4: Choose Your Own Adventure

Driving a short 2 hours towards the west we arrive in the small town of Skalholt. Here, you have the day to explore on your own. You may go hiking through old settlements, explore the town or a horseback ride can be arranged at your own cost.  (B,D)

DAY 5: Reykjadalur Hot Springs & Local Farm

We will have the opportunity to hike in the Reykjadalur Hot Springs while stopping at natural pools and baths. The scenery is spectacular! After the hike we will drive to Hvalfjorour to visit some local farmers and learn about their family history and efforts in combining farming and tourism. We will enjoy an early dinner on the farm and stop to see the Hraunfossar Falls en route to our hotel for the night. (B,L,D)

DAY 6: Goats & More Nature! 

After short drive we arrive at Haafell goat farm. Here we will meet the female farmer whose focus is saving the Icelandic goat from endangerment. There is opportunity to purchase many goat products from soap to meat. Next up, Deildartunguhver Hot Springs. Known as Europe's most powerful thermal springs, this spring provides surrounding towns with their central heating and bath water. Lunch will be at the delightful Hraunsef farm. We will stop by the Erpsstadir Dairy Farm to taste some home-made ice cream before heading to the hotel. (B,L,D)

DAY 7: Snaefellsnes Peninsula

We will begin the day with a stop at the Leir 7 Gallery known for its creations from Icelandic clay found in the local valleys. This area is filled with impressive landscapes, black and white sand beaches, breathtaking cliffs, mountain peaks and soaring waterfalls. We will explore some small fishing villages and take in this beautiful par of Iceland before winding our way back to Reykjavik for the night. (B,L,D)

DAY 8: Free Day in Reykjavik

Enjoy the day at your own pace. Choose to visit one of the local museums, take a leisurely walk along the harbor, or visit a day spa and relax. There is much to discover in this lovely city. If you want you may choose to book a helicopter tour, visit the famed blue lagoon, go on a fishing tour, or go to cheese school!. We can help arrange all of these extra activities. (B)

DAY 9: Departures

Transfer to the airport for flights home. (B)
